Default Shrouds lift deck ....

Thanks to this forum and Thanks to Brion where I received excellent directions on how to solve some problems of rigging.
I have a problem: My deck lift where the upper shrouds are anchored in the chainplates.
It 'is a common problem in Folkboats... I'm trying to solve the problem without upsetting the boat just redone.
I found this solution (See photos) on the internet and seem for me a good idea, but i'm not sure. what do you think?
The only place for the anchor is on the bulkhead and the cable attached works only diagonally....
I need some advice...
THanks a lot for any help!
G.

You should be able to create a new anchor point more in line with the load by glassing a suitably-sized pad to the inside of the hull. You might have to relocate the toilet, though.

Default Relationships

Hi there,
What w have here is a case of overlapping technologies. The chainplates have one set of needs, and your plumbing another, and both are trying to occupy the same space. As noted above, though, the chainplate lead doesn't need to be in conflict with the head, because taking it where you have indicated means that you are pulling sideways at least as hard as you are pulling down. Multiple unhappy consequences would follow, not the least being that the stay would be twanging you across the back.
So how about a glassed-in anchor that takes the lead down, just outboard of that shelf? Much cleaner vector, no toilet conflict, and likely a stronger anchor point.
Fair leads,
Brion Toss
