Default Making a short pendent out of 1/4" amsteel

I need a pendent that is approx. 18" eye to eye. The splices I see for single braid end up with the bury too long, i.e. the two tails would overlap. What's the best way to splice?

Default No ends

Howdy,
No matter what the material, when the LOA approaches two splice lengths, it's time to make a grommet. There are several ways to do this, from a "yippee" sling to a covered HM version. You might find what you need in my Book 5.
Grommets are also extremely handy in lots of other applications, like hanging blocks and emergency repairs.
Fair leads,
Brion Toss
