Default Splicing 5/16" 1x19 SS 316 wire

I have heard that it can be spliced on to an eye, but how hard is it to do and does anyone have a photos or two that can be viewed so we can see if the result is suitable ?

I did a google, but did not find much info of use, though I did see something on the web some months ago and can not find it now. I think it was for splicing more flexible SS wire though.

Will some heat improve flexability of the wire for working into the splice, if so how much is safe to apply ?
