Default Code zero

Sorry for errors in my spelling but high school was 20 years ago.

I have red that a code zero is best not to be put on a boom configuration but rather on a fixed point on deck/bow. This because of the relatively heavy working load in case of sailing small angles (50 - 80 degrees AW). A code 3 on the other hand could fly on a sprit in front of the bow for bigger projection etc. This because the angles are much bigger (forces are lower with same true wind speeds) in regards to apparent wind. (90-140 degrees AW).

How serious do I have to take this "fact" off not using a sprit? We are talking about a code zero of about 70m2 on a 34 foot yacht. What is the most simple way of supporting the sprit to prevent it to move upwards/or break.

Thanks for input upfront
