V-100 Vectran

I am considering using NE Ropes V-100 for standing rigging. Has anyone tried this? What would be the best splice to use? I am in the tropics and like the idea of the cover over the Vectran. Any other comments are welcome.

I used V-100 as standing rigging on my 31' Cape George cutter. Works perfectly. Used turnbuckles at first, then upgraded to Colligo deadeyes and Dyneema lanyards. Some of the V-100 has been in the sun since 2009 with no breaches in the cover.
NE ropes has good directions on their website for splicing V-100; far better directions than the ones Samson offers for their version of it.

Thanks Ben, that's good to know. But NE shows two splicing methods for braided line. Thus the question.

A note: I have been using the V-100 as my lashing lines with the Dyneema rig I currently have. In the 6mm size it works great with the deadeyes.

Funny, you had Dyneema shrouds with v-100 lanyards, and I did the opposite. It was my understanding that dyneema, having a far lower coefficient of friction than polyester, would allow the lanyard to be set up more easily. How do you find your poly-covered lanyards to behave?

I'm sure the V-100 lanyards are more difficult than the Dyneema. But it was double. I was worried about the thinner Dyneema line taking UV damage more quickly. Here in the tropics the sun is brutal. Plus it looked more authentic with the black deadeyes. And it holds a knot better.
