Default Fractional rig question

I have a 7/8 fractional rig with in-line spreaders, aft lowers and upper shrouds (no running backstays or forward lower shrouds) on my 1985 Cape Dory Typhoon Senior (22’), hull #1. The rig seems identical to its little sister, the 19’ Typhoon.

Then the following year Cape Dory for some reason apparently modified this rig to have swept back spreaders with aft lower shrouds and uppers both connecting to the same chainplate. It's seems every other Typhoon Senior I've seen has this rig setup that's different from mine.

My question is should I been concerned with my fractional rig with in-line spreaders, aft lowers and having no forward lower shrouds? I’m thinking of adding forward lowers to better stabilize the middle mast while it's down for the winter , but am seeking some advice before spending the money and time to do so.

Thanks for any info
Tom
