Default Adding an inner forestay

We're changing boats and I'm considering adding an inner forestay to the new boat. The boat is a Jeanneau 42I performance
Purpose would be to hang a storm jib. The boat has a fractional sloop rig with significantly swept back double spreaders.

I imagine I'd mount the top of the inner forestay at or below the level of the upper spreaders.

Any problem mounting the inner fore stay without a corresponding back stay or runners?
Anything else I need to consider?

Roy,

I would contact the manufacturer of the boat and the mast and get their suggestions before I did something like this. You have a relatively new boat, so they will likely advise you as part of the "keep the customers happy" program.

If you have a sailmaker in mind for your new sail they may have a rigger they work with who could help you figure the inner stay placement, or they may have experience themselves with this type of installation.
