![]() Hi Folks, I am just shy of half way through the serving of the galv' rig on Talisman our two masted Gaff, stays'l Schooner. After the first winter I am a little alarmed by the rapid degridation of the "slush" used to coat and protect the marlin twine. In the Riggers Handbook, Brion suggestes using "Black Tarred Nylon" rather than Tarred Marlin. I cannot find any refference to "Tarred Nylon" here in England. Can any one help me with trade names or an internet supplier?
THe "Slush" I am using is Black Bitchimum, Varnish and Stockholm tar. Many thanks Simon |

![]() The stuff Brion sells is from LFS a local commercial fishing supplier in seattle. I would check with a company that supplies commercial fishing in your area or a net builder there should be some. Swan net is pretty big over there.
try these guys Good luck Jake Last edited by SV Papillon : 06-08-2008 at 06:57 AM. |
