![]() I just received a new, loose footed mainsail. My previous sail had a bolt rope on the foot that was captured in the boom. The new sail came with a piece of Spectra to tie the clew to the boom. Can anyone tell me what the best way would be to attach the Spectra to itself to form the loop to hold the clew to the boom? Thanks!

![]() I use a strip with velcro which came with the boat. I have used this on other boats as well. It works well.

![]() I normally splice these clew 'travelers' for themainsail. Knots in spectra have a tendency to slip out- they do slip out-
this makes taking the sail off a pain, but single braid dyneema is really quick to splice, and unsplice too...
