This is something that I certainly did overlook. I replace the wire/rope main halyard on our boat and replaced it with an all rope (low stretch new-tech stuff) and did not replace the sheave. The new halyard runs across the sheave OK but it probably is not seating properly. It is always something! Taking it one step further, I have thought of replacing the old Hood Stoboom with the original boom and a full batten main, but the stoboom works and there are always other pressing projects.
