Chainplate Corrosion Pitting Photo

Lower End of Furler
This is the lower end of the Pro Furl unit pictured above… Trying to determine if its possible to tighten the inner forestay… its rather floppy....

So, these are supposedly re-usable... but not easily I found out today. Any tips or tricks to getting a sto-lok dissambled for re-use?
Cut wire right above Sta-lok and punch it thru from the back?...

chainplates: round holes vs square holes
talked to three non-sailor machinists this week about my cracked SS chainplates. All of them said the same thing: you'd be better off with round holes. both chainplates had cracks at the first bolt....
