Default Amsteel Blue Brummel Question

I'd like to use 5mm amsteel blue for the outhaul pendant on my multi purchase outhaul on my 36' 16,000lb cutter. I am unclear about the difference between the locked brummel and the modified brummel. My question is what is the appropriate splice for the two eyes on the end of the pendant? The purchase part of the outhaul is made up of sta-set and it is anchored to the forward end of the boom with a short continuous loop of 1/4" amsteel blue.

Regarding the pendant, I am thinking I would use one of the brummels for an eye splice and then cow hitch it around a shackle attached to the moving part of the purchase (inside the boom). I'd run the amsteel out the end of the boom and make another brummel eye splice to cow hitch the line to a captured shackle. That way, I can replace the shackle if it wears without replacing the amsteel.

I am new to dyneema but have already found it to be fascinating line considering the double braid splices I have been making. I am a little unclear on the difference between the locking Brummel and the modified Brummel and which is appropriate for what.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions you might have.
