![]() There are several ways:
You can make the eye big enough to fit around the ring, then seize it with twine so it can't open again. You can splice an eye and girth-hitch it to the ring, if there's clearance in the groove for two bits of Dyneema. You can do either of the above with a spliced grommet. If you have the far end of the Dyneema available, you can tightly brummel around the thimble. You can do a standard bury-splice and lockstitch it. There are lockstitching directions on NE ropes and Samson websites. I use fairleads like this all over my boat, and they're pretty great. I'm sure there's uses for them we haven't imagined yet. Ben |
