Default Dyneema to Dual Braid Halyard splice

The topic of splicing a Dyneema halyard to a dual braid tail at roughly the half way point has been discussed and I was wondering if a splice I am thinking of has been tested or even if it will work. My initial trials suggest it might. The idea would be to pull the core out of the dual braid say 1 foot back, pull the cover back another foot and cut off 1 foot of the core. Then take the core and tuck it inside the Dyneema for a foot. Then milk the dual braid cover back over the core and Dyneema. At this point you have 1 ft of Dyneema between the two braids of the dual braid and a tail of cover 1 ft long hanging out right where the core stops. You would then bury the cover inside the Dyneema for a foot with a taper on the end. Lengths would have to be adjusted to allow for shrinkage from the bury but this is the idea. The biggest problem I see it that I would want to use something like 3/8 double braid and 3/16 Dyneema and that might be near the limit of what can fit inside the 3/16 braid. I think it would be like trying to tuck a 1/4 inch line inside the 3/16 and that seems doable. Anyway, not having a testing jig I hesitate to use such a setup so I was wondering if anyone has tried this.
