Bury for Amsteel Blue

Hello all,
When reading splicing instructions for single braid 12 strand uncovered line, I believe that 24d was the suggested bury for an eye splice.
In another response by Brion in a thread in the archives, I noticed mentioned a 72d bury.
My questions:
Was the 24d bury talking about something other than hi mod?
Is 24d a long enough bury for 1/4" Amsteel used for life line purposes? (The ends will have round thimbles and lashed).
When ordering my line I accounted for 24d bury, not 72d.
I hope I am not short on my order now.
