Default Rigging a boom brake

We're rigging a Wichard Gyb'Easy boom brake but cannot figure out a fair lead from the boom to a padeye on the toe rail. Is it OK to attach a turning block to the aft stay ? If so, is it better to tie it on with line or bolt on an eye ?

Thanks,
Sam
