Default Hitching a Wheel - Recommended Twine

Preparing to hitch a wheel for a lubberly neighbor's Beer Barge.

What kind of twine do you recommend?

I was planning simple french hitching with turk's head's a la the Apprentice at the five spokes. It's a small wheel (13.5 Inches OD - Elliptical cross section: 1" x 0.75").

Thriftiest option available, since I'm doing it for off-season therapy and Grog.
