Hood Furler 810

I am going to up grade my Hood 810 continuous line furler to a Hood single line furler/reefer so I can be confident when I need to reef the gibe. Hood talks about the single line unit using a 80 ft double braded 3/8 line, decored for the first 1/3 on the drum. I would reather decore it myself then have them and spend the. Has anyone done this or is there a suggestion for a technique that works for decoring a double braid line of this size.
