Boom Vang Part

Hi,
I have a '81 C&C 36. I am trying to install a basic boom vang, and need a part that can slide into the mast slot with an eye ring so that I can attach the vang to it. The piece would slide down the mast from the boom.
Does this make sense? Can you recommend a product/piece? Thanks
