Default Terminating stays in place

I just replaced my gang by duplicating the old and correcting anything that I did not like.

My other option was to terminate the top and then terminate the bottom after the spar was stepped

My question is how to measure for the in place termination - assuming a stud on the bottom end going to a TB. IT seems like it would be tough to get the slack out of the unterminated wire, and even if you could you are faced with quite a few variables.
