Default what alloy for seizing wire?

Hello,
Any preference for 316 vs 302/304 for annealed stainless steel 1x7 wire?

Default Wire

Hello,
If 316 is available, use it, for the same corrosion-resistance virtues that make it desirable for standing rigging. Perhaps more important is construction; the rare 1x7 stuff is flexible, more resilient, far preferable to the stiff 1x1 that every chandlery sells.
Fair leads,
Brion Toss

Hi,
Thank you. 304 was all that was available. It was difficult to find. Hamilton marine in maine stocks Loos 1x7 annealed wire 1/16" diameter.
