Default Strip and bury - How Much?

I'm working on a spinnaker halyard and want to strip off the cover for some distance. I've not been able to find any guidance on how much cover to bury.

Is there a formula for how much cover to bury?

Do you do one bury for the whole cover or split it into two or more pieces and bury each?

Thanks,

Jay

Default Not much

Hello,
We typically use the same length tail as we would for a conventional double-braid splice: 24 diameters. It's enough to be significant and easy to stich, and long enough to taper fully, should we wish to.
Fair leads,
