![]() Does anybody know the dyneema core diameter of the 3/8" warpspeed line? Either warpspeed I or II.
End for end dyneema splicing is best done with the same diameter rope, right? Thanks! Gleb |

![]() Hello,
Expect about 5/16" (8mm in irrational measure). As for relative diameter, so long as the buries are adequate, you can have significant size disparity; you just limit the strength to that of the weaker line, weakened a bit further by the intrusion of the larger line. What is the application? Fair leads, Brion Toss |

![]() Thank you! Pretty much all lines that need replacing on the boat. Roller furler, jib sheets, reef lines, spinnaker halyard. I've decided to give it a try - there are considerable weight and size savings with virtually no cost difference with spliced dyneema and hopefully, I can splice it so that it doesn't fail.
So do you think 3/8" line (5/16 dyneema) would work okay with 3/16" dyneema on a 30' sloop? Maybe even 1/8" for roller furler? Thanks! Gleb |
