Default Solid Body Thimbles?

Anybody know of any suppliers of solid body teardrop thimbles other than Precourt and Colligo? I have not been able to find any less expensive options for use with synthetic stays and shrouds.

Thanks,
-jak

Default machinist

There might be a local machinist who could make some for you. I had one make me a lot of stuff out of aluminum, and since I took him the material (you can often find decent stock remnants at recycling yards), it was pretty inexpensive, and exactly what I wanted. Not anodyzed though, which is a nice feature of the Colligo. Antal makes pretty nice aluminum round thimbles, also anodized and suitable for fairleads. One that I bought for about $16 would accomodate a 1/2" rope spliced around it. They are distributed by the same people that sell the ridiculously overpriced Karver blocks.
