![]() I just stepped my mast and here are few shots of the new rig. All Dynex Dux ropes using Colligo "Dead-Eyes" to replace the turnbuckles and eye terminations. All of the spreader tip shots were blurry, I have to remember to have the auto focus aimed at the tips and not the ground.
I have 11 hours into the splicing end of it. I do not see how to post any shots here so I will just give you a link to check it out if you like. It has been a very pleasant project so far.... ![]() http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ner-22345.html |

![]() Thanks, it has been fun so far
![]() At the last minute (because I was still trying to figure how to do it with what I had) I tried a number of different ways. I covered the uppers in a single fabric hose and seized it to the spreader with SS wire on one and some net twine on the other. The lowers I used a 3/4 inch fabric hose over both ropes. One side I seized with some Dynex 65 Twine I had, and the other side I seized with SS wire. I am really not very concerned about chafe. I know this sounds a little crazy, but after 6 years of using this stuff on deck of a trawler, I have seen it take horrible abuses and still keep right on truckin' ![]() |
