Delrin mast step

For a small deck steped mizzen, I replaced the cast aluminum mast step with one made of delrin. After two seasons it looks great. Does anyone have an opinion on using a delrin mast step for an aluminum deck steped main mast, 30' luff, 180 sq. ft sail?
