![]() If I had an eye spliced in Vectran rope, and had nice leathering around it where it went around a spar, what could I treat the leather with to keep it supple, that wouldn't damage the rope? Neatsfoot oil? beeswax? Lanolin? Carnauba wax? Linseed oil? What substances should I avoid? I know Nylon isn't keen on petroleum-based liquids, does anyone know how Vectran does?
Thanks, Ben |

![]() Hi,
Neatsfoot is good for oil-tanned leather, a wax product like Sno-Seal for chrome-tanned. Fair leads, Brion Toss |
