Default Inner Forestay & Solent Stay Mast Fitting

I would like to install fittings on my mast for both an inner forestay and solent stay. Plan to do some sail experiments between the two sails.

For the solent stay, what is your opinion of say a Wichard tang that is fit into the mast by cutting a slot in the forward part of the mast and sliding and fastening the two piece tang inside the slot? This fitting could also be used for the inner-forestay.

For running back stays for the inner- what are your thoughts on T ball fittings?

Other option for the inner forestay is to use a mast hound that also includes the running back stay tangs. Any thoughts?

For the installation of the above, would cutting a slot in the forward part of the mast have any significant impacts on the strength of the mast?
Thanks
