Default Mast Internal Electrical Wiring

Ahoy All , when installing new electrical wiring to the mast head tricolor , would individual color coded wire strands be as acceptable as a 5 conductor multicable ?

The wire will be run in a PVC conduit inside the mast .

Sure, as long as you use an appropriate guage wire. The primary advantage of a ribbon cable or multicable is that you can pull all of the conductors at once.

Sometimes the flat multi just won't fit or pull through well.

By the way, why add the weight aloft of the PVC? Will you be able to get it past points of obstruction, like if there are through bolts near the spreaders? Are you foaming inside or otherwise making an occlusion and want the PVC for a permanent channel to add or change? What else - VHF, Sat, wind array, etc. - do you have going up there? What about the wires for the steaming light, spreader lights, etc?

G'luck

Yep thos are fine. I preferred wire in it's insulation for extra protection and I was pulling many cables (NMEA, Masthead, Spreader lights).

I used class 200 PVC as it's lighter than schedule 40.
I also used Blue Sea Cable Clams on all my wire exits to protect from water intrusion and to support the wires.

I'm quite happy with all of this thus far (1 year).
