Adding Spreaders to Spreader-less rotating rig

Hello, Last summer I broke the mast on my little 23ft Tremolino Trimaran. The 28'9" rotating rig broke at about 8 ft above the base at the point of a very old previous dent from a falling rig. I was able to procure, a new lower 8ft section (same as SuperCat catamaran mast) and suitable internal splice which I secured with bolts and 5200 adhesive. All went better than I expected. That said, it makes me nervous, and I would like to add a spreader, or most likely 2 sets of spreaders (with diamond wires), one centered at the break, to correct some not really too significant mast bend, and another set immediately above to forestay height, to add a little more lateral rigidity which I always thought would be a good idea. (It would also look really weird with one set of spreaders so low.) I will likely eventually replace the whole mast if I can find a suitable replacement. Given that this is supplemental, I don't think that I can go too far wrong. I would like to minimize the length of the spreader spars to not become a nuisance interfering with the foresail on a rotating rig.. My question is as follows. Do I really need to concern myself with the geometry, since it is supplemental? Is there a minimum wire to mast anglIe should seek? Should I overlap the 2 sets of spreaders, and if so, how much,
