Default Brian and the Buntline Hitch

Some time back I had the pleasure of hearing Brian speak at the Seattle Boat Show, very interesting talk as always.

If my memory is correct Brian said that the Buntline Hitch was one of maybe two knots he trusted to take him aloft (the Bowline was not one he liked) - reasons I can remember,

More Secure
Smaller so he could be hoisted a bit higher than with a Bowline

Great knot to use to hoist a sail
Very secure when whipping around in the breeze

If you don't mind Brian, how good is my memory & are there a few other reasons to use the Buntline Hitch?

Thanks much for any help

PS - one of these days I will post a link to the whipping method that I use that I have mentioned to you a time or two.
