The line you're looking at/pictured is Marlowbarid MB12. It's a latter day version of the original Marlow Braid which had the hawser laid core.

It does splice like a convential double braid but...

I've been playing around with some spare pieces of line and trying to tail splice some 12 strand HM line into STA-SET. Seems like a lot cheaper way to go than stripping cover off of some V-100...
