Yes, I'll send a sample. If you don't mind, will also send a few other splices to break to know what to expect.

The main consideration for me for is not weakening the splice when it goes up and down a block or sheave. Strength is secondary - I'd be happy with 10-20% reduction in strength.

Not sure what to do with the cover in this case, though.

Is there an end for end splice that has some sort of a lock instead of relying on stitching? Stitching is subject to chafe, etc., especially if used on blocks.
