Thank for the link to mcmaster - I'll take a look!

Titanium sounds good too! Do you know a good source to buy a titainum flat bar from?

I know a shop that makes titanium chainplates, but they charge at least $200-300 per chainplate, and compared to $15-25 for a 316 flat bar (1.5x0.25x12), and roughly $30 of asking your local metal shop machinist to drill 5 holes and polish it a little bit, it's very cost ineffective.
