Are you considering changing the mast out, or trying to reuse the current spar? How would you feel about buying a used rig that is otherwise ok? What are your current rig dimensions, and how would they compare to what you would like to replace with it? Any interest in a larger or smaller rig?
Typically in mast systems are designed around a mast that is thicker in cross section than the boat really needs in order to house all the furling gear. This can add a good bit of weight aloft, and add complexity to a retrofit. Plus the slot in the mast for the sail requires a stiffer section than a rig without.
I haven't been through this process, but I would be looking for a used rig of appropriate dimensions from a boat that was decommissioned for other reasons. Ran onto some rocks would be prefered. Then try and sell the mast you have. You could even get lucky and find someone looking to add an in mast furler you could just swap with.
Either way you would still be on the hook for new standing rigging, and likely some new running rigging, but save yourself the cost of the extrusion.
