Can someone tell me what is the sequence of events for measuring up, then having made, a cutter stay for a moody 36 yacht.
The cutter stay is being attached to the mast 10 to 12 inchs down from the mast head, and attached to the chain plate in the bow, which also has a roller reefing head sail attached.
When in it's un-rigged position the cutter stay will be attached to the deck somewhere aft of it's working position. Where is the recommended place for this?
What is a good way of attaching the lower part of the stay to the deck / working position? I've been told a Hifield lever, is this true?
The mast fitting has to be attached whilst the mast is stepped. What is the best way of tackling this part of the job.
What is the best way to approach the drilling of the holes for the fitting, when up a mast.
And finally, is there anything I need to know that might catch me by surprise.
Wow --- what a lot of question. I hope somebody can help.
Cheers.
Tim.
