rigging vise?
 

Anyone know of a source for a reasonably priced rigging vise (a simple three point vice for eye splicing wire rope) for personal use?

I have made a very effective and simple rigger/s vise from scrap pieces of mild steel. I also have the same design which can be made from pieces of hard wood using an electric drill and some simple hand tools.
Write to ronwrench@hotmail.com and I will send you hand drawn diagrams and written notes for making one. cost of materials less than $10.00 and a couple of hours labour.

Hi all,
Every once in a while someone brings a riggng vise by, looking for a home for it. That happened the other day. Here is an attempt at uploading a picture of it. Looks rusty, but is actually in good shape, and would clean up beautifully. Wish I needed one.Great design.
