Hi,
Spreaders, no question, regardless of the materials used. And you might want to revisit other geometry, like that of the triatic, the jibstay/outer forestay, and the fores'l proportions.

Hi Peter,

Paying Brion for a consultation is money well spent. I mailed him my proposed sail plan and he corrected. My rig (Gaff-headed cutter with spectra shrouds) stayed up through 7000 sea miles so far.....
