Locked Brummel
Hello all,
This may have been covered before, but I still need a clarification. My two sources are the splicing video by Brion and Brion's book working rope book 5. My question is: Referring to the Mc Donald Brummel in book 5, is the first Brummel made in the multi brummel splice considered a locked brummel? So I can use this as the start of the naked HM eye splice with the 72 diameter bury? The end result of this first brummel of the Mc Donald brummel splice looks like the one Brion does with his splicing wand in the naked eye splicing video. Just want to clarify. I want to make sure, as I will be making a set of lifelines from 5/16 amsteel. Thanks for your help. Bob |
Usage
Hello,
The McDonald Brummel is simply a way of making a locked Brummel, using one end only, that is repeatable, so it can form multiple locked Brummels. It's the method, not the structure. Fair leads, Brion Toss |
Locked Brummel
Brion,
Thanks for your reply. That clarifies it for me. Have a great holiday up in PT. Wish we were up there. Bob |
