'wickham-martin' roller furling gears
 

Hello,
Wondering if anyone knows were I can find the wickham-martin style roller furler available for purchase. Most modern furling gear makers offer similar foiless furlers, however I seem to remember seeing some of the older looking designs still available, something in bronze. I would rather find a contiunous line drive unit if anyone knows of one.
Any suggestions ?

The Wykeham Martin furling gear is available through R.W. Rope (US) from Davey & Company UK. The RW Rope Company is the importer for the east coast and their prices run very very high. The drums start at around 290.00 up to 800.00 with the top swivels from 250.00 to 400.00. I find buying from Classic Marine in the UK including the shipping cost to be a much better deal by 20 - 40%. Classic Marine has an excellent website and ships right away. Its unfortunate that RW Rope has such a tremendous mark because they drive people away from the great Davey & Co products. You might also try the Seattle based Wood Boat organization, they carry some of the Davey & Co products at a better price than RW Rope. I even called Davey & Co. but they can do nothing about RW Rope prices and they are the ones who gave me Classic Marine as an alternative.
