Nicolson got a good review in WoodenBoat Magazine [#200] and I can't wait to get my copy.

yeah, thats where I read the review too, so I had the office order a copy.

It has some interesting stuff, some insightful stuff, and some is just cooky crazy. the guy really empowers the surveyor- which is good - to never give cost a consideration when surveying. At least thats something I took out of the book. He has also seen some crazy things for sure in his years.

I wish there were more discussion on identifing metal failures/corrosion - and understanding the processes that lead to it. Also could have some more discussion on fastenings - like why does he feel chainplates should never be fastened with less than 5 bolts, ever ? Unless it only has 3. Maybe I am remembering wrong, ill go re read again Wierd ~

anyway , an interesting book and was hopin someone might have read as well....
