no wrapstop
I have seen this type of problem when the patented Profurl wrapstop is not installed correctly - usually too loose on the stay. There is often the black bearing residue left on the stay.
I have sailed half way around the world with a profurl (put on in Tahiti in 1984) and the unit has never missed a beat. Install any unit correctly and they usually do the job intended. Thanks for the game. David |
people have also sailed around the world in little canoes. anything is possible, but the argument should be - what is safe ?
